| 2332 | Born in Greenock in the western part of Scotland. His parents, Edward and Fiona owns a small shop in Greenock. At young age, Ed is a well-behaved kid in a loving family. |

| 2346 | Ed's parents are killed in a shooting between two gangs. The shop is sold and Ed and his two brothers moved in with his grandparents, Shannon and Helen. Ed, who has never really liked his grandparents, spends a lot of time away from home, hanging out with friends downtown. The grandparents are worried and always tell him to be more like his younger brother William, who is the best of his class in school. |
| 2347 | At the age of 15, Ed neglects school a lot, and those days he goes to school he often ends up fighting other boys and is sent home. Ed is sent away to a reform school in Glasgow, where he manages to eventually graduate. |
| 2350 | Ed is now 18 years old and have no thought of continuing his education, instead he tries to find various jobs. Without higher education, he can't find anything he is interested in doing. One day, he happens to see a recruitment poster for the Starfleet Marine Corps, "Travel, meet new friends and make a difference!". Ed enlists in Starfleet Marine Corps at the age of 19 and is assigned to the 129th Mobile Battalion. At Basic Training in Hereford, England, Ed discovers that military life is exactly what he wants to do. |
| 2351 | The day before graduation, Ed calls home to his grandparents and asks them to come see the graduation ceremony. Ed graduates as top of his class. For the first time, his grandparents are really proud of him. |
| 2352 - 2353 | The 129th Mobile Battalion is assigned to an outpost near the Klingon border. Their mission is to monitor the peace agreement. Ed learns basic Klingon. |
| 2353 - 2355 | Ed's Battalion is rotated back to Earth for further training in England. |
| 2353 | Ed meets Anne, they fall in love and gets married. |
| 2354 | Their daughter Valorie is born. |
| 2355 | The 129th is once again scheduled to rotate out on a mission, Ed does not want to leave his wife and their daughter and considers leaving the Marine Corps. Before he has to make a decision, Ed gets an offer from the SpecOps section of the MarineCorps, which he takes. The family moves to Annapolis in North America and Ed recieves training to become an Operator in the SpecOps Reconnaissance Team. |
| 2356 | Ed graduates from the Special Warfare College in Annapolis and is assigned to the 18th Strike Group, the "Gray Ghosts". By now, Ed has got tired of family life and wants to see some action again. When the 18th is assigned a mission, Ed has to leave his family behind. |
| 2356 - 2365 | Takes part in classified operations in various areas, for example in the Demilitarized Zone between the Federation and Cardassian space. |
| 2357 | Promoted to Sergeant |
| 2360 | During a brief stay on Earth, Ed meets his now 6 years old daughter for the first time since he left the family. Anne wants to make their separation official by filing for a divorce, Ed agrees and heads out on a mission again. |
| 2364 | Promoted to Team Sergeant. This promotion meant more responsability, something Ed liked very much. He found out he had strong leadership abilities. |
| 2365 | While setting up a surverillance post on Maridiana III, Ed's group is detected and fired upon. During the fight, the Commander and XO of Ed's team is killed and Ed is left in charge. He manages to call in assistance just before a grenade explodes, trashing his legs into pieces and killing others in the group. The group is beamed out just in time or they would have been captured. |
| 2365 | Extensive surgery to reconstruct the leg and recovery to regain usability in the leg. Ed gets and honourable discharged from the SFMC due to the injury. He visits Anne and his daughter but decides a civilian life is not for him. |
| 2366 | Since he enjoyed leadership positions and can't live a civilian life, he applies to a Starfleet Academy program and is accepted. |
| 2369 | After the general Officer's course, Ed enters Starfleet Academy Security College to train to Security Officer. |
| 2370 | Ed Graduates from Starfleet Academy as Ensign and is assigned to the USS Vanderpool as security officer. He enjoys the combination of exploration and security, he takes on more responsability. |
| 2374 | His efforts are noticed and he is promoted to Lt Jg and assigned the position as Assistant Chief of Security on the USS Vanderpool. |
| 2377 | Ed visits Earth again to see his daughter, now a young woman at Starfleet Academy. He tries to explain to her why he had to leave, and even though she does not really understand, she forgives him. |
| 2378 | Promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to the USS Firestorm as Chief Security Officer. |
