Maxwell Kepler is a highly motivated starfleet science officer. He speaks frequently of his hope to make lasting discoveries in astrophysics. He has had several years of experience aboard starships in the capacity of science officer and has performed exceptionally at his work. Despite his good record, he has several faults that his commanding officer's should bear in mind. When confronted with potentially dangerous situations, he may act without confirmation from his superior officers.
This happened once during his last assignment (the USS-Nova) when the ship encountered a temporal disturbance near Yaga Minor. His actions essentially saved the ship from disaster, however they involved rerouting half of the ships power to the tractor beams, and did not notify the captain until the temporal disturbance had disipated. His other major fault is a tendancy to take over any science operation and not allow the science officers under him to participate. Future commanders should take note of this and encourage him to trust his fellow science officers. |
